Oral Presentation Guidelines

Duration of the Presentation

Oral presentations are limited to 12 minutes:

10 minutes for presentation
and 2 minutes for questions.

A LCD projector & computer (Windows, MS Powerpoint & Adobe Acrobat Reader) will be available in every session room for regular presentations.

Preparation of Visuals

To keep the conference on schedule, presentations from personal laptops will NOT be possible. In the case large movie files are to be shown, work with conference staff to ensure they load and play correctly well before the scheduled session.
Files may not be uploaded directly to the local PCs in the lecture rooms. Instead, files should be uploaded via dedicated link.
Presentations should be prepared for an aspect ratio of 16:9, which is the setting that shall be used for all projectors. Any presentations using 4:3 aspect ratio will still be viewable in general, but some parts may be too small for the audience to clearly see when projected in 16:9. As such, 16:9 is strongly encouraged.
To avoid software compatibility problems with MS Powerpoint, speakers are advised to EMBED ALL FONTS in their Powerpoint presentation. Alternatively PDF version may be submitted.
Only .ppt, .pptx, .pps, .ppsx or .pdf files are accepted
Speakers should arrive in their session room 15 minutes BEFORE the start of their session to report to the chairs. A technical assistance will also be available.

General Considerations

Introduction: Briefly introduce yourself and the topic of your presentation.
Main Content: Focus on the key points, findings, and insights of your work.
Limit the number of words per visual.
Leave space, at least the height of a capital letter, between lines of text.
All fonts, including that on graphs, should be 16 point or larger.
Graphs and charts should have bold lines and symbols that contrast sharply with the background.
Conclusion: Summarise the main takeaways and, if time permits, suggest possible future directions or applications.

Electronic Poster Presentation Guidelines

Electronic Poster Presentations — Format Overview
Delegates selected for poster presentations are strongly encouraged to take part in a Short Oral Poster Presentation.

This presentation format consists of two distinct stages:

Short Oral Presentation and Electronic Poster Display

Stage 1 — Short Oral Presentation

Each presenter delivers a brief, focused talk introducing their work to the audience.
This presentation is limited to 6 minutes and should function as an introduction to your research — covering the key question, approach, and main finding — rather than a full walkthrough of your study:
- 5 minutes for presentation
- and 1 minute for questions
Maximum 4 slides is allowed. Think of it as inviting attendees to come learn more, not as a substitute for the poster itself.
Short oral presentations will take place in the meeting rooms and will be divided into approximately 10 sessions.

Stage 2 — Electronic Poster Display
All posters will be displayed electronically for the duration of the congress on digital totems located in the foyer area. This is where attendees can explore your work in more depth, view the complete poster content, and ask questions.

In short: the short oral presentation is your spoken introduction, and the electronic poster on the totem is the lasting, browsable version of your work that stays visible throughout the event.

Preparation of Digital Poster — Technical Specifications

Note: portrait orientation, 9:16 aspect ratio.
The totem screens are fixed and cannot be rotated.
Resolution: recommended 2160×3840 pixels (4K UHD), minimum 1080×1920 px.
Avoid small text or low-resolution images — these become illegible on a large public screen.
File format: PDF is preferred. PNG or JPEG may be accepted as an alternative; check your confirmation email for the exact accepted formats.
File size: Keep your file under the limit stated in your confirmation email (commonly around 20 MB) to ensure smooth loading on the totem.
Text and layout: Since the poster will be viewed from a short distance in a foyer setting, prioritize a clear title, large headings, and concise text blocks over dense paragraphs.
A large, bold title and a logical top-to-bottom or left-to-right flow (Introduction → Methods → Results → Conclusion) work best.
